David Garza
Principal
My name is David Garza, and I am the proud principal of Alicia Ruiz Elementary School. I have worked as a 4th, 5th, and 6th grade teacher during the first twelve years of my career. I have also been an administrator since 1992. I worked as an assistant principal for the first six years of my administrative career and I have been a principal since 1998. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (1st- 8th grades). I have two majors, one in English and one in Spanish and I hold a certification in Bilingual Education. My Master's degree is in Education with a certification in Management. My other certifications are as follows: ILT/ILD, PDAS, PADC, and SASA Evaluator. I am a member of the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association and ASCD. I believe that all children can learn, and that the educator can guide the child towards excellence.
